ABOUT ME

Originally from Hong Kong, my musical path begin at the age of six. Today I am a dedicated pianist and educator based in Sunnyvale. I hold a Diploma of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. In addition of teaching, I enjoy staying active in the musical community as a chorus member, and I have experience accompanying singers and choirs. These collaborative experiences help me teach my students how to listen more deeply and connect with the music they play.

With over 13 years of experience teaching more than 80 students, I have learned that every student carries a unique “seed of ability”. My job is to provide the structure needed for that talent to flourish into a lifelong passion.

I believe the best lessons are a collaborative dialogue. While I am fully equipped to coach students through formal exams, I also prioritize self-expression. I frequently adapt my curriculum to include modern repertoire and simplified versions of pop music to keep students motivated. I meet every student where they are, ensuring our time together is productive and rewarding.

To me, piano lessons are about more than just mastering an instrument. They are about developing a skill that stays with you forever. I strive to help my students use music as a tool to express their emotions and create a more fulfilling, balanced life.
